Griha pravesh is an important Hindu rite. Before moving into a new home, Vastu Purush puja, Navagraha shanti, Ganesh puja and Grihalakshmi puja are performed together. These rites remove negative forces and settle positive energy in the home. The main parts of vastu shanti are the worship of the sixteen Matrikas, Punyahavachan and a havan.
