1. What we collect
- Account: name, mobile / e-mail, password (stored only as a secure hash), preferred language. With Google sign-in: your name and e-mail from Google.
- Puja bookings: puja, date and time, full address (house, locality, landmark, city, PIN code), contact, who brings the samagri, notes, coupon / referral code.
- Premium kundli: name, date, time and place of birth (for match-making, of both the boy and the girl), your question, courier address, payment reference.
- Purohits: profile (photo, experience, languages, services, service area, about), puja photos, photos of both sides of the Aadhaar card (for verification only), location (city / PIN code, or a one-time GPS fix if you allow it), own bookings and earnings notes.
- Samagri store, gems, e-books, membership: name, contact, address and order details.
- Reviews and ratings; conversations through messages / WhatsApp.
- App: data kept on your phone (panchang, library, saved kundlis, naam jap) stays on your phone. Technical data needed for notifications.
- Technical: cookies needed for login and language; IP and login-attempt records for security. We do not track you for advertising.
2. How we use it
- To complete your booking, order or kundli and keep you updated (app / website messages, SMS / WhatsApp).
- To find suitable purohits near you — an approximate location from your address shows the request to nearby purohits.
- To verify purohits' identity and profiles (Aadhaar) and prevent fraud.
- To keep referral points, wallet and payment records.
- To improve the service and help you.
3. Who sees what
- Purohits: before accepting, only the puja, date, area and your first name; your full name, mobile and address only after the booking is confirmed.
- Customers: purohits' public profiles (after login). Phone numbers only for premium purohits who allow it; otherwise contact goes through VedPurohit.
- Aadhaar photos are not kept in any public folder — only the VedPurohit team sees them for verification; customers never do.
- Premium kundli PDFs are downloaded only from your account, through a short-lived secure link.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share only what is needed to provide the service: Razorpay for online payments (we do not store card / UPI details), the courier company for deliveries (name, address, phone), Google for sign-in (if you choose it), OpenStreetMap to locate an address (address / PIN code only). WhatsApp’s policy applies to WhatsApp chats. Information is given to authorities only when the law requires it.
5. Security and retention
Data is kept on secure (HTTPS) servers; passwords are never stored in plain text; Aadhaar photos and kundli PDFs are in private storage. Booking and payment records are kept as long as legal and accounting rules require; when an account is deleted, other personal data is removed or anonymised.
6. Your rights
- See and change your details in your account (name, contact, address, language, password).
- Turn notifications off (app settings).
- Ask us to delete your account and data: write to info@vedpurohit.com or WhatsApp +91 8796509552 from your registered mobile.
7. Children
VedPurohit accounts are for people aged 18 or over. Details about children (e.g. a naming ceremony or kundli) are given by their parents.
