Satyanarayan Puja
Blessings of Lord Vishnu — for happiness, prosperity and peace
About this puja
Satyanarayan puja is one of the most popular and rewarding pujas of Lord Vishnu, described in detail in the Reva Khand of the Skanda Purana. The scriptures say the whole family should sit together for it. Listening to the Satyanarayan katha, in five chapters, is the heart of the puja — it tells how devotees were blessed after performing it. Sheera made with semolina (panchamrit prasad) is shared as prasad. It is especially performed for griha pravesh, birthdays, wedding anniversaries or a new vehicle, and is most rewarding on Purnima and in the month of Shravan.
