About this puja
Vastu shanti puja is performed before opening a new home, office, shop or factory. Its main parts are the Vastu Purush mandala puja, worship of the directions and the five elements, and the vastu homa. The eight guardians of the directions (ashta-dikpal) are installed in the eight directions. According to vastu shastra, defects in a building can bring illness, money problems and stress to the family; this puja removes them and makes the place happy and prosperous. For business premises a special vastu yantra is installed with a homa.
