Aarti Dnyanaraja — Mahakaivalyateja
Original text
The sacred text is kept in its original language.
Meaning
This aarti of Sant Dnyaneshwar (Mauli) is sung at Alandi, on the Wari pilgrimage, and on his birth anniversary and Sanjivan Samadhi day.
Refrain: Aarti to you, King of Knowledge, shining with the great light of liberation. Saints and sages serve you; my mind is drawn to you.
1. True knowledge had vanished from the world and no one knew what was good for them. Then Pandurang himself took birth and was named Dnyandev.
2. The gopis stand with golden plates in their hands (for the aarti), while Narada and Tumburu sing the Sama Veda.
3. Dnyaneshwar revealed hidden knowledge to all (through the Dnyaneshwari) and showed the whole universe as Brahman. Ram Janardan says: I laid my head at his feet.
