Meaning
This traditional Hindi aarti is sung all over India on Ganesh Chaturthi and before every auspicious beginning.
Refrain: Victory to you, Lord Ganesha, whose mother is Parvati and whose father is Mahadev.
1. The one-tusked, compassionate god with four arms; vermilion shines on his forehead and the mouse is his mount.
2. Betel leaves, flowers and dry fruits are offered to him, laddus are his food offering and the saints serve him.
3. He gives sight to the blind, health to the sick, a son to the childless and wealth to the poor.
4. Surdas says: we have come to you for refuge; make our worship fruitful.
5. O son of Shambhu, protect the honour of the humble and fulfil our wishes; we offer ourselves to you.
