Meaning
This aarti is sung on Ganga Dussehra, Ganga Saptami, Kartik Purnima and at pujas on the river bank.
Refrain: Victory to you, Mother Ganga. Whoever meditates on you receives the fruit of their wishes.
1. Your light is like the moon and your water is pure. Whoever takes refuge in you crosses over the ocean of worldly life.
2. You freed the sons of King Sagara, as the whole world knows. Your gracious glance brings happiness to the three worlds.
3. Whoever comes to you for refuge even once is freed from the fear of Yama and reaches the highest state.
4. Mother, the devotee who sings your aarti every day easily attains liberation.
